Also, we consider the lack of news in relation to the continuation of the Adoption Support Fund and who will be leading the promised Care Review and who should be leading it.

Episode 108 - The Corporate Parents, Court Rulings, Refused Adopters and Banter
Saturday Nov 28, 2020
Saturday Nov 28, 2020
In this episode we wrap up our conference feedback, and get drawn into what has been a busy old news week.
The outgoing Children's Commissioner has made some pretty honest remarks that lead us into fostering recruitment. From there we consider the ongoing government spending review, the Article 39 ruling on the Covid amendments to social care legislation and then wrap up some thought on the lazy newspaper trope of poor couples being not allowed to adopt. We comment of the lack of news on the ASF and fostering as a career.
Scott reflects on the passion of Jan Slater, friend, colleague and adoption practitioner, and we try to ask some difficult questions of ourselves in relation to our lack of understanding of some people's perspectives.
Here's links to the news articles we chatted about.
